The nervous system is a system that constantly manages the body’s reactions. It decides whether the body remains in a state of rest and regeneration, or whether it switches to a state of mobilisation, alertness or overload.
These processes take place outside of our consciousness. The nervous system constantly interprets signals from the environment and from within the body, and then triggers responses to help us cope with the situation. In a world full of stimuli and stress, this system increasingly remains in a state of chronic activation.
During the lecture, you will understand how our ‘biological autopilot’ works, how stress is recorded in the nervous system, and why tension often remains in the body even when the threat is long gone.
You will also experience somatic work and vagus nerve activation to trigger the body’s natural regeneration processes.
Regulating the nervous system is really simple, you just need to understand how it works.
Anna Gniłka, creator of the Kobieta Orientu (Woman of the Orient) brand, is a bodywork therapist and educator in the field of nervous system regulation. She specialises in somatic techniques, working with trauma stored in the body, and processes of regaining balance through conscious contact with the body.
In her work, she uses approaches such as Somatic Embodiment, Somatic Release, and nervous system regulation methods based on contemporary knowledge of stress and neurobiology. She has developed her own method, Somaia Somatic Release, which integrates work with the nervous system through the release of tension stored in the tissues and natural mechanisms of stress relief in the body.
She conducts courses, workshops and individual sessions devoted to overcoming chronic stress reactions, regulating energy levels and returning to deep contact with the body.
