Magdalena Gajdzińska & Piotr Matejuk

Topic: (PL) Przełomowe badania dotyczące mechanizmów działania hipnozy

About the lecture:

This lecture presents the latest scientific findings on the mechanisms underlying hypnosis, integrating perspectives from neuroscience, cognitive psychology and clinical practice. Participants will learn about contemporary theoretical models of hypnosis – ranging from state-based approaches, through cognitive-social models, to integrative models – and their relationship to neuroimaging data.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the neurobiology of hypnosis, including changes in the functioning of key brain networks (DMN, executive network, salience network), the role of neurotransmitters such as GABA, and the mechanisms regulating attention and perception. The processes of neuroplasticity and memory reconsolidation will also be discussed as the foundation for lasting therapeutic change.

The second part of the lecture will present evidence-based clinical applications, including the effectiveness of hypnosis in the treatment of pain, anxiety disorders and depression, and its integration with other therapeutic approaches. The lecture combines scientific rigour with the experience of practitioners working with altered states of consciousness.
