The meeting will be an attempt to organize surprisingly consistent themes in rock art, sculpture, reliefs, sacred painting, and oral traditions—from the civilizations of Mesoamerica and the ancient Middle East, through India and China, to the traditions of the peoples of Africa, Australia, and Siberia concerning beings from outer space.
The lecture focuses on the analysis of recurring motifs: figures “coming from the sky,” teachers of knowledge, beings with inhuman physiognomy, flying objects, and scenes of contact between humans and beings today referred to as extraterrestrial. We will compare these representations with the cultural and religious context of the eras in which they were created, showing how ancient people interpreted unknown phenomena and how they encoded them in symbols, myths, and rituals. We will mention a number of pieces of evidence compiled by the father of this subject, the writer and explorer Erich von Däniken, who died this year.
Robert Bernatowicz is a journalist, economist, and political scientist who has been researching phenomena that are difficult to explain unequivocally for many years. He is interested in things that defy simple answers—human experiences, historical mysteries, non-obvious events, and questions about the nature of reality.
