Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche

Topic: How to Transform Difficult Emotions into Wisdom // Tibetan Practices

Language:

Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche is a respected Buddhist master who transmits the ancient Tantric knowledge that forms the foundation of Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan medicine, and astrology. By integrating these disciplines into a unified whole, he shares the teachings of his lineage with students around the world. He is known for his profound knowledge, compassionate way of teaching, and his ability to translate traditional wisdom into a language accessible to contemporary audiences.

During the festival, he will lead two sessions:

Lu Jong, Tsa Lung & Meditation – a workshop combining Tibetan Healing Yoga, breathwork, and meditation. The practice of Lu Jong helps relax the body and restore flexibility to the energetic channels. Through Tsa Lung techniques, the energy of the breath can flow more freely through the body, reaching increasingly subtle levels. The session concludes with meditation, which calms the mind and allows participants to experience a deep harmony of body, breath, and awareness.

Buddhist Psychology: The Transformation of Negative Emotions into Wisdom – a lecture devoted to Buddhist psychology and practical methods for transforming difficult emotions into wisdom, awareness, and inner balance.

The sessions will take place on Wednesday and Thursday (July 22–23).

Discover the story of Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche

He was born in 1976 in the Himalayas into a farming family from which many incarnated lamas have emerged. At the age of six, he began his education at Sowa Monastery and later studied at one of the largest monasteries of the Bön tradition – Nangzhig Monastery – where he was introduced to the teachings of Dzogchen and Bön rituals.

At the age of thirteen, he was recognized as the eighth incarnation of Tulku Nyentse and enthroned at Sowa Monastery. According to an oracle’s prophecy, however, he would not remain in the monastery but would travel the world teaching and helping others.

Rinpoche studied in several Tibetan monasteries, including Amchok and Labrang, where he deepened his knowledge of sutra, tantra, Tibetan medicine, and astrology. He received teachings from all the major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and represents the Rime approach, which integrates different schools.

In 1993, he left Tibet for India, where he studied at Gaden Shartse Monastery, and later in Dharamsala he shared Tibetan cultural heritage with both Tibetans and Western students. Since 2000, he has been traveling around the world, giving lectures and workshops on Buddhism, Tibetan medicine, and astrology.

In 2002, he founded Nangten Menlang – Buddhist Medical Center in northern India. Today, his international organization Nangten Menlang International is based in Vienna.
