Movement Medicine – The Neurobiology of Closeness
Love doesn’t always manifest in grand gestures.
It lives in a breath synchronized with another’s breath. In a gaze free of judgment. In a mirrored gesture. In a micro-moment of silence where we are not left alone.
From a neuroscience perspective, closeness is not just a feeling – it’s a biological need.
Our nervous system – according to Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory – seeks safety through relationships.
We cannot learn, heal, or play freely unless we feel seen, heard, and accepted.
It is through relationship that co-regulation occurs – a natural phenomenon in which our nervous systems synchronize like two instruments playing the same melody.
In the safe presence of another human, our brain switches from survival mode to connection mode.
That’s when the body begins to relax,
the mind opens up,
and the heart starts to trust.
This is why Movement Medicine – dance infused with mindfulness and connection – becomes a powerful practice of nervous system regulation.
In Movement Medicine, we explore movement as the first step to reconnecting with life.
Shared rhythm, mutual gaze, repetitive movements, and the clear vibe of play and somatic experience all create a foundation for forming new neural pathways.
Neuroplasticity gives us hope – what is repeated, stays.
That’s why Movement Medicine is more than dance.
It’s a practice of presence, empathy, and collective healing. An individual journey into the body, and a communal ritual where we feel: “I’m not alone.”
In this space of rhythm and softness,
the body says: “I am safe.”
The heart says: “I can love.”
Practicing Movement Medicine – especially in a group – has the power to soften old armor.
It nurtures the subtle expressions of love.
I cherish those moments of festival connection through dance.
Warmed by the Sun and the presence of others, we become more open to receiving.
Our nervous systems, when feeling safe enough, allow us to experience intimacy.
Movement Medicine is a contemporary, transformational healing path rooted in shamanic traditions that integrates body, heart, and spirit. It reconnects us to our inner “Unbroken” – the untouched part of us that always holds the way back home.
My work is grounded in embodied presence – here and now.
I work with movement, dance, breath, stillness, and silence – all that supports embodiment and the manifestation of inner potential.
I lead workshops (such as BodySpace, Dreaming Body, Feeling Heart), solstice ceremonies, and regular practices across various Polish cities.
My experience is enriched by many years of working with touch – in the Polynesian bodywork tradition and fascial massage – and leading slow jogging trainings, a Japanese method supporting health and longevity.
