About the workshops:

1. The workshop ‘The Zen Mind, the Beginner’s Mind’ is an introduction to the key aspects of working with the mind in Zen practice. Participants will learn about the concept of the eight consciousnesses and the various qualities of the mind – from a mind as clear as a mirror and as bright as space to a mind ‘before thinking’. We will also look at the most common obstacles in meditation, such as the analysing mind, drowsiness or wandering thoughts. The session combines short discussions with meditation practice and mindful experience of the present moment, supporting the development of a fresh, open perspective – the beginner’s mind.

2. The ‘Introduction to Zen Meditation’ workshop is a calm and mindful journey into the self, accessible to everyone – regardless of experience. During the session, participants will learn the basics of Zen practice, correct posture, and breathing techniques that support concentration and quieting the mind. In a safe, welcoming atmosphere, we will discover how, through simple presence, one can find peace and clarity. The workshop combines theoretical introductions with seated meditation practice, as well as time for questions and further explanations. It is an opportunity to slow down, breathe and experience the here and now.

About the presenter:

A translator, publisher and senior Dharma teacher, he has been involved in the practice of Zen Buddhism for over 30 years. A disciple of experienced masters, he leads online classes and workshops, sharing his knowledge and experience in an accessible, contemporary way. As a translator and publisher (with the ‘Miska Ryżu’ publishing house), he has contributed to the popularisation of classical and contemporary Buddhist texts in Polish. In his work, he combines deep practice with mindfulness in daily life, inspiring others to develop awareness, compassion and inner balance.
