Tomek Torres and his handpans will take you on a musical journey into yourself. It will be a great opportunity to calm down, stop and observe your own, sometimes deeply hidden emotions.
A graduate of the General Music School of the 1st and 2nd degree. F. Chopin in Bytom and the Academy of Music. K. Lipiński in Wrocław at the instrumental department. A musician with over 25 years of experience on the Polish music scene, a recognized session drummer, co-founder of the band Afromental, permanently playing, among others. in the team of Urszula Dudziak and Sławek Uniatowski. He uses his many years of experience and musical education in his new passion, which is playing the handpan.
Handpan concerts are a great opportunity to give yourself a moment to stop the daily rush, close your eyes for a moment, dream, listen to their exceptionally soothing sound. Tomek is known for his melodic and musical approach to this instrument. During the concert you will be able to listen to Tomek’s original compositions, which will be included on his upcoming album entitled “Sonic Energy”.

– in the years 1997-2006 a member of the band Triology (together with Michal Baranski and Mateusz Kolakowski), founded by the American clarinetist Brad Terry. Over 300 concerts throughout the United States, e.g. in such clubs as: Knitting Factory (NYC); Jazz Bakery (LA); Mt. Washington Hotel (NH); Chicago (Polish Consulate); as well as in other jazz clubs in San Diego, Boston and Denver. During his stays in the States, he had the pleasure of meeting and playing with such musicians as: Bill McHenry, William Gallison, Tony Malaby, Jeff Williams, Aaron Goldberg, Jamey Aabersold, Adam Makowicz and Buddy DeFranco.
– in Poland, he had the opportunity to collaborate with such renowned musicians as Bobby McFerrin, Mayito Rivera, Michal Baranski, Jan Smoczynski, Pawel Tomaszewski, Krzysztof Urbanski, Reinaldo Ceballo, Jose Torres, Grzech Piotrowski, Pawel Kaczmarczyk, Filip Siejka, Piotr Zaczek, Grzegorz Jablonski, Robert Kubishin.
– cooperated, among others with bands: Mikromusic, Natasza Urbanska, Kasia Kowalska, Ania Szarmach and Kuba Badach.
– in 2014 he won the plebiscite organized by the “Derkusista” magazine in the “Perkusista Modern” category, in 2016 he won again in the “Drummer” category, and in January 2017 he was named one of the “101 Polish Drummers of All Time”, according to the “Perkusista” magazine
