Processing intelligence in living systems: Biological peculiarity in the biosphere and brain
In the lecture we will discuss the mechanisms that stand behind the manifestation of intelligence in plants in relation to the mechanics of consciousness processing in the human nervous system. We will try to answer the question whether we are dealing with a biological peculiarity or something else. In addition, we will become familiar with the best documented model of consciousness formation in the human brain.
We know that plants have very specific forms of intelligence that they accomplish in many ways. They learn, remember, transmit information, react to the sounds of the surroundings, see in the underground, together with the mycelium networks they create something like the forest internet. Some of them are able to interact with the human nervous system, extracting or transmitting unconventional information of various types through the induction of other types of perception. We also know that plants use quantum effects in photosynthesis.
