These workshops focus on harmonizing voice and body through various techniques and exercises. Participants explore the inspiration and strength of nature, which can enhance the expressiveness of their voices. Connecting with oneself and nature also becomes an opportunity to discover and embrace one’s authenticity.
Participants will explore different aspects of their voice, uncover its potential, and learn to express emotions through sound. Exercises may include mimicking the rustling of trees, animal sounds, or the natural symphony of the environment.
The goal is to awaken creativity, encourage free self-expression, and discover vocal diversity. Participants will explore sound as a therapeutic and healing tool for emotions and the body. Together, they will create an atmosphere where new songs emerge, and they will also sing traditional songs from around the world. Musical instruments are welcome.
Katarzyna Broda-Firla
From an early age, she learned from her father, Józef Broda, who instilled in her a deep sensitivity to the world and people. He taught her to recognize music where it might not seem to exist—flowing in mountain streams, whispering in the trees, in storms, and raindrops. Together, they visited rural communities, where Katarzyna learned traditional singing and dance.
She has performed in Poland and abroad with groups such as Józef Broda’s ensemble, Joszko Broda, and Wałasi. She plays a variety of instruments, including the ocarina, shepherd’s flutes, recorders, Rzeszów dulcimer, hurdy-gurdy, and jaw harp. She co-creates the ensembles SHAFA and Broda & Friends and sings in the band AFROTUBA. Recently, she has been exploring throat and overtone singing from Tuva and Mongolia.
She is also actively involved in education, leading workshops on traditional “white voice” singing under the project Katarzyna Broda-Firla: From the Source, promoting the rich culture of the Beskids.
